When I was 17 years old I climbed the highest mountain in Washington state, Mount Rainier.
At the time I had zero experience but was in good shape and one of my buddies asked “do you want to climb Mt Rainier next month?”
I said sure let’s do it and proceeded to not train or prepare at all (maybe foolishly).
This mountain is huge. Over 14,000 feet. Glaciers, Ice, snow you name it.
Some people even train for years to be able to climb it once.
But we had a secret advantage.
My buddy’s dad had done this climb 17 times.
So, armed with that we set out and proceeded to climb one of the toughest peaks in the US.
But, we did it. After 2 days of climbing we made it to the top and for the rest of my life I can say I did it.
Often the same goes for business.
